Course Summary
The Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) program is delivered in two modules:
- Module 1 (5 days)
- Module 2 (5 days)
In addition to the two modules, there is recognition in the workplace and or Prior Learning component as part of the assessment. The course can incorporate a distance learning component.
Course Objectives
The aim of the course is to develop competent Government investigators capable of performing investigations within an Australian government environment consistent with the provisions of the Australian Government Investigations Standards AGIS and Compliance with the Commonwealth Fraud Control Guidelines CFCG. Over the course of the two modules, participants will gain both practical and theoretical knowledge and understanding of the investigation process.
The program provides participants with practical skills and strategies to effectively assess and conduct investigations in the Australian government context. The program includes workshops, syndicate discussions, quick decision exercises, and the valuable opportunity to interact with visiting subject-matter experts including representatives from relevant Australian Government Investigative sections and agencies.
Course participants will gain further insight into legal and judicial requirements by participating in court visits and through the practical application of knowledge and skills gained during the course. Our specialist program incorporates field activities to test and reinforce the student's confidence and critical decision making skills.
